Με παρουσιαστές την Taylor Swift και τον LL Cool J το Bridgestone Arena στο Nashville του Tennessee γέμισε από τα μεγαλύτερα αστέρια της διεθνούς μουσικής σκηνής ενώ τα μεγάλα φαβορί για το 2012 είναι πλέον αντρική υπόθεση εφόσον τα ονόματα που αναδείχτηκαν με τις περισσότερες υποψηφιότητες είναι οι : Black Keys, fun.,Jay-Z, Mumford & Son, Frank Ocean και Kanye West με 6 ο καθένας. Σε εκδήλωση που θα λάβει μέρος στο Staples Centre στο Los Angeles στις 10 Φεβρουαρίου του 2013 θα ανακοινωθούν οι χρυσοί νικητές.
